Pre-Cancerous Conditions
Precancerous dental conditions are changes in the mouth’s tissues that have a higher risk of turning into oral cancer if left untreated. Common examples include leukoplakia (white patches), erythroplakia (red patches), oral submucous fibrosis, and lichen planus. Early detection and management are crucial to prevent progression to cancer, and treatment may involve lifestyle changes, medications, or surgical removal of suspicious areas.
